After filming the 4th and 5th seasons of Game of Thrones, the Klis Fortress and GOT tour became the most popular tour.

Klis Fortress was the only natural crossing over the mountains that stretch along the Dalmatian coast. It is located on a mountain pass between the Kozjak and Mosor mountains. The old and new roads connecting the coast with the interior still run through it today. The natural passage to the interior also contributed to Salona’s excellent location.

Due to its strategic location at the crossing from Split to Zagora and Bosnia, battles for supremacy were fought on this fortress for centuries.

The producers of Game of Thrones brought popularity and prosperity to this fortress in 2013 and 2014.

Game of Thrones revived this fortress, as very popular scenes were filmed in the city of Meereen, where Daenerys Targaryen and her army set out to free the slaves.
